Inspired by pictures of my mother in the 70′s, I acquired these bell bottom jeans recently.

They remind me of images of Cape Town, mountain tops and my mother with her bob hairstyle (post the long hippy stage) and demin shirt tied in the front. Oh i wish i lived in that era some days!

Breakfast at Kith Cafe this morning. wearing: for all mankind, Bell bottom jeans, Zara crisp white shirt and khaki waist coat.

My trip to Perth next week was rescheduled, which meant, dinner and dancing dates had to be cancelled, mani + pedis postponed and a generally well planned weekend of dates had to be put on hold. As disappointed as I was, i pulled myself together and have so far managed to save the weekend.

I love Asia for many reasons, including $36 hour long massages (scheduled for tomorrow), $20 wash and blow drys (so much time and energy saved) and cheap movie tickets! Today I explored Orchard road a little and discovered that no matter where in the world I head, I come back to stores like Witchery. After buying a pair of amazing wedges in their accessories store at ION i found out from the sales girl that they actually stock clothing at Isetan! The next half hour was spent hunting down the source. My efforts were rewarded with a blush silk shirt to compliment my new shoes!

Tonight – Movie night + girly gossip.

Each time i fly i take magazines from planes. A vogue here, a harpers bazaar there. Plenty of reading material for an afternoon by the pool.

Some new books from Amazon arrived too, which made me very happy.

Fashion Illustration, Inspiration and Technique by Anna Kiper + Fashion Principals, Practice and Techniques: The Ultimate Guide for Aspiring Fashion Designers.

They sound promising! And now to do some reading….

aimless wandering

Days spent wandering the streets of Shanghai, having tea at the grand Hyatt (91st floor), followed by a stroll down the river side near the financial district. Such an amazingly new city, just space and glass. Had a beautiful day catching up with an old friend who took me to some local markets and kindly offered his translations skills at every turn. The weather turned to grey and mist, which doesn’t make for the best photo expeditions, but makes you appreciate warm coffees and good conversation…..

Zara trench + paper bag waist pants. Not enough layering for the Shanghai cold… Not happy that i had to fly out to singapore right at the opening of shanghai fashion week! Fail….

Lounging at Singapore airport, listening to Frenchmen and their conversations involving 6 billion dollar mergers, in cash no less…… First class lounges can be intimidating! Reading through the wall street journal and the economist, my usual airport routine, eating French toast and sipping cafe lattes….

Amazing band, after not having seen them in 7 years!

I wore: Bardot dress, Urban Outfitters bag (a must for any concert), my lace booties from Zu and gold chain (pimp style – it’s VERY heavy) from Mango.
